ORACLE LINUX: HOW TO BOOT ORACLE LINUX VIRTUAL MACHINE (VM) IN SINGLE USER MODE

Following are steps to boot Oracle Linux VM in Single user mode.

1. Start Guest VM using below command.

xm create -c <vm.cfg> 

2. Interrupt boot by pressing any key, you will see the bootup menu. Hit "e" to edit the boot entry

3. Modify grub entry i.e. append 's' to kernel line at the end and then hit enter key 

4. Now come back to the bootup menu, hit "b" to boot guest VM

Guest VM will now bootup in Single User mode.
